Ma first animation eva!

I'm so excited that I'm trembling while typing this down, just because I had finally learnt how to do an animation by using the 30-days trial Photoshop CS5 I downloaded a few days ago. Behold, the simplest animation ever that even a 7 year-old kid can do, the traditional, old, lame trick someone can do with animation, the blinking eyes!

Click the image to view animation, and a new tab will open up. I think.

I know my drawing looks crappy this time, no, my drawings are not that good other times too, but this is the worst in history. Still, who cares? Not you, you, and you. I'm in a good mood anyways, you can't bring me down.

I have just gone through my first presentation in this semester and it went well. Three cheers for ore-sama!

Aren't pianos just cool?

One of the many talents I wish I have is the ability to play musical instruments. Piano, violin, guitar, to name a few. Guitar was hopeless. I rented a guitar last year, and the result of my learning was... almost nothing. Damn.

OTL

There are no pianos to be rented (hell, how do you expect to bring a piano back home without a transport? A lorry, I suppose. But... I am an overseas student after all. I can't afford that luxury). So... the best option is to rent a keyboard, which is pretty much similar and easier to play. Oh no, it's not me who rented it, my friend did. I'm a cheapskate, SO WHAT?

Long story short, now I am able to play a few songs. And that is good enough. The sad thing is, I can only play with a hand, which is so not cool.. And it doesn't sound nearly as good as playing with both hands, if you get what I mean.

I once watched a Korean reality show where one of the hosts of the show said (not directly quoted, but it means almost like this) "I think guys would like to have an image of their girlfriends like this. Playing a piano, with sunlight coming down on her from the window behind".

Like this...... Almost.

And so... my pitiful inability in music aside, I'm going to show off a song that I managed to learn. It's one of the soundtracks in a famous Korean drama, "Full House".

WARNING
I played this with one hand, so it's really not that good. And it's not the full song too. Bear with it. Or you might consider not listening at all. But you don't want to break my heart, do you? *wink* <333

It's WINTER!

Yep, as the title clearly stated, it's officially winter in NZ now. Well... it's winter for quite a while already, but I haven't had the chance to update my bloggie. It's getting colder and colder, and windier too! Let's just hope that it will snow in Dunedin this year. Judging by the temperature now, the chances seem to be quite high. Which is awesome!... or not. For now, let's just pray to survive the cold, harsh winter.

The great news is, it's holiday now! For 5 weeks, to boot. It was great that I get to spend more time with my housemates and friends. So far, I have visited the cinema twice with my housemate. And guys, DO watch the latest X-Men, First Class. It's superb! Well, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is not bad too. And it is very rare for me to do some free advertising.

Today, I've tried colouring with my drawing tablet. It was not easy. Or rather, it was damn difficult. As always, I used Adobe Photoshop to draw but this time, I tried to draw and colour the image in one layer, and it took ages! At least I was rather satisfied with my drawing this time.

Back from a trip and alive

Life as a student is actually not that bad, but it can be tedious at times. Therefore, my friends and I decided to have a trip to Queenstown. Well, this was decided ages ago for our Easter holz. And the trip turned out really well. In fact, it was AWESOME!

Queenstown is a really beautiful place. I haven't been travelling much because of my health condition (it's not life-threatening, not to worry). And I have always disliked crowd. But I didn't regret going for the trip at all. Too bad I'm such a coward that I didn't try out the bungee jumping, but I enjoyed the cruise we took at Milford Sound. The scenery was spectacular! Not to mention getting drenched in the waterfall is a lifetime experience.

Still, the thing I like most about the trip is taking a walk on the beach just nearby where we were staying. Interestingly, when talking about going to beaches, the image that came up on my mind is this, so I drew it:

This drawing I drew made me think that I might have been watching too much movies. For a couple of minutes, I cursed in my mind for drawing something this feminine. Seems like I'm stuck with shoujo style of drawing, after all.

Randomness.

On a fine Saturday evening, a not so peaceful one since they're loads of assignments to do, I found myself sitting at my laptop, drawing with my precious drawing tablet. Geesh, I need to be aware of my time management. Doing my assignments last minute means getting less beauty sleep (lol on this one kekeke..)

Anyways, it is so fun trying things out with my drawing tablet. One day I'll be a professional manga artist for sure! Dream big, Atie, dream big (^ ^)v

Basic Guitar For Beginners!

First off, I know this art I've made would gather more bad criticisms that good ones, but please consider the heart of someone who is trying hard despite not being so good in this.

I had drawn this art as an encouragement for a friend who was recently interested in playing guitar. It is always cool to see someone working hard on his or her interest.

P/S: Click on the image to view full size.

Yes, yes, I do notice that my attempt on colouring the art is a complete failure. The hair looks weird, the t-shirt looks like it was coloured by a 4 years-old, and is that even a guitar? Note, it was a mini guitar I drew, so it supposed to be that small. And no, that was not an excuse. I notice my lacking and will work hard in the future.

Sketches Made FUN!!

This is a sketch I've made today~~ A lame one, but hey, I'm still learning. It is harder than you think it is. Those who are better than me, this is not the time to show-off.

While drawing this, I kept on thinking what kind of expression could this girl be showing? Happy? Sad?

I think it's hope.

Best day ever~~!!

My first post and I'm going all out.
Nobody asked, but let's bring out the first question:

What had exactly made my day?

Well, for those who care to know, I just bought this Bamboo drawing tablet (my preciousssss) and for some reason, I couldn't install it with the installer CD. So I was kinda upset and put all the blame on my poor ol' lappy.

Let's skip the lame story.

In the end, after a few days, I finally had the drawing tablet installed which is why I'm so happy I could kiss my Research Methods in Education book. Or read the whole book twice a night.

*clearing throat* Reading always make your eyes sore, hence I'll bring out a secret weapon I've prepared. Behold!

This is an experiment my friend had with my drawing tablet. To quote, she said that this is "the best abstract art ever". Well, I have to admit that she does have an eye for art.

Conclusion of the day: I love my ol' lil' lappy.
